Week 1: Language Arts
Our first week of Kindergarten covered quite a bit in Language Arts, but my Funky Monkey had lots of fun with the rhymes and tales and all the activities. Here is a glimpse of what we did!
Below are videos of my budding story teller, retelling fables and tales he learned.
Below are videos of my budding story teller, retelling fables and tales he learned.
Below are the writing worksheets he completed for certain tales. We did writing for Three Little Pigs and Three Billy Goats Gruff.
Below is a "House Color by Size", which we did as a following direction prompt. It was later in the day by this point and he didn't want to color
so I served pretzel sticks and juice, that perked him right up.
Part of "You Can Read Unit #1" from 1+1+1=1
He had to find the sight words he learned.
I use this as his "assessment" at the end of the week
and then reward him with his certificate.
Drawing Practice
My little guy wants to learn to draw
more and more, so I've been trying
to add in some practice sheets for him
that go with different stories.
Here is the 3 Little Pigs, he had to
draw their houses.
Part of the "You Can Read Unit #1" from 1+1+1=1
This was part of his morning work after day 1 of
learning his 4 sight words. He was to circle the sight
words he learned. As you can tell, we had a couple mistakes,
but in my opinion, pretty good, since we didn't review
them before he completed this.
Writing Sheet for Three Little Pigs Tale
He was to come up with a sentence about the wolf.
Cut & Label by Size Activity
I set this up in a learning center for him to complete
by himself. He did really good!
More Writing Sheets
This is for Three Billy Goats Gruff
and Three Little Pigs.
Part of "You Can Read Unit #1" from 1+1+1=1
We used as a following direction prompt.
I gave him the directions and he circled
the correct sight word in a certain color.
Part of "You Can Read Unit #1" from 1+1+1=1
This is our first worksheet that we complete
for our introduction to the unit.
Awarded his first certificate for Unit #1!
He was so proud!!!
We also added the sight words he learned
to his baseball chart.
Have Fun and Be a Blessing!
