Letter T = Thankful

Letter T = Thankful

With November just around the corner, I wanted to teach my son about gratitude and being thankful for what we have.  Also, to teach him why we give thanks to God.  So I created the following:

  • T t is for Thankful Puzzle
Just print, cut along the lines and let your tot put it together.
  • Book of Things to be Thankful For
This is an easy to read book for the little tot to associate the same phrase and identify the picture to complete the sentence.  My son LOVES these type of books and he's already advancing his reading skills.
  • Coloring by Direction
Thankful is also about giving.  This activity your little tot will color each present a particular color that you tell them to.  This helps with learning to follow directions.
  • Color Matching Activity
This is a great simple game board for your little tot.  I laminate the color word board and then cut out each heart shape.  I have my son play seek and find the color heart by pointing to a word color on the board and then place the heart on the correct square to match colors.  You can play this in any way you want.  If you want it to be more of an individual activity for like a workbox system, then just have your child match the heart colors to the correct "color" word.
  • Letter Tt Sorting Activity
Your little tot will associate with Capital "T" and Lowercase "t" and sort them in the correct column.
  • Size Sorting Activity
Using the thankful pilgrim smiley faces of small, medium, and large.  Your little tot will sort each size into the correct column.
  • Spelling Activity
Your little tot will learn to match corresponding letters to make the word "Thankful".  I print off two of these.  I laminate one, the other I cut out the circles of each letter and laminate.  You don't have to laminate, I've found that printing on cardstock holds up well too.
  • Sight Words
These sight words are the reasons to praise and thank God.  I've put pictures with the correct word.  For a younger tot, keep the picture and word together while reviewing.  For an older tot, cut off the word from the picture, review the words and pictures together, then have the child associate by sight.
  • Coloring Pages
These are coloring pages that go along with the "Thankful" theme.

  • Bible Lesson
Danielle's Place has a GREAT Bible Lesson called "Don't Forget to Say Thank You" which is about Jesus healing the 10 lepers and only 1 returned to say Thank You.  There is a craft associated with this lesson and other activities like, reading Scriptures and figuring out what the verse is telling you to be thankful for.  We'll be using this lesson!

Hope you enjoy these activities!!! Be a blessing and Have Fun with your tot!
