Lesson of Thankfulness
Book: Thank You God, for blessing me by Max Lucado
Overview:
Little Hermie teaches kids to be thankful for God's blessings. First starts out with Little Hermie thanking God for blessing him with the wonderful world around him to live in. Then Little Hermie counts his blessings - safe place to sleep, food to eat, and God making him special. He thanks God for friends and family and names everyone he knows. Then Little Hermie points out the key to an attitude of gratitude - he asks God to help him be kind and obey! And it ends with Little Hermie saying a thankful good night prayer.
Bible Point:
God is happy when I'm thankful!
Memory Verse:
"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever." Psalm 107:1
Activities:
- Placemat: Things I'm Thankful For
We'll be using a piece of construction paper (whatever color my son chooses) and then finding pictures online of things he is thankful for (including family pictures), printing them, cutting them and pasting them. Then I will laminate for durability. I'll post a picture of our completed placemat soon.
