So my little guy shocked me - he traced ALL the letters of the alphabet!!! (Yes, it was his choice.) I usually have him do sign language and trace just 1 letter per week, but we haven't worked on ALL the letters for tracing yet. I laid out this alphabet mat that I got from 1+1+1=1 in the Christmas Nativity PreK Pack and he did them all, so very proud of him!
Not perfect, but he did REALLY good with many of these letters. So, I decided to make a memory verse notebook for him. I put ALL the memory verses we have learned so far, 13 total, printed them on handwriting practice lines and put a drawing box above and put them into a 3 ring binder. Here is what it looks like:
I just set it out to see if my son would notice it - he did! And he asked for a marker and started tracing the verses. I think this is a good next step for him and helping him with drawing concept related to a verse. He is so excited about the notebook (and I am too)!!!
I plan on putting up our memory verses into a printable packet soon.
Have fun and be a blessing!

I LOVE this idea! I too used the alphabet mat in that same packet this week as an assessment tool with my son to see which letters he knew by covering them up with seasonal erasers as I called them out. He loved it! I didn't think of tracing them! Great idea! Thanks for sharing. I would love to see the printable packet with verses once you get that done. :)

He's doing pretty well with that. Good for him! Like the idea of a memory verse. I am a new GFC and FB fan visiting from ABC and 123 Learning. Vicky from Mess For Less
