School Week Review 12/12-12/16/11

This week was pretty down key for us with Christmas preparations and Jordan has been extra cuddly this week with the sniffles.

We read LOTS of books:

  • Humphrey's First Christmas
  • Mary's Christmas Story
  • God Gave Us Christmas
  • My Merry Christmas
  • The Christmas Story
  • Bible Reading: Luke 2
  • Frosty the Snowman
  • The Little Engine that Could and the Snowy, Blowy Christmas
  • Christmas Mice!
  • One Starry Night
  • This is the Stable
  • Cricket at the Manger
Then we watched these movies:

  • The Polar Express
  • Veggie Tales: Saint Nicholas
  • The Bedbug Bible Gang: Christmas Show
And here are the activities we did this week:

Candy Cane Hunt and Color Match

Letter Tracing Activities

Our Memory Verse Notebook
Tracing his 13 memory verses he's learned so far.
Plus a box to draw pictures related to the verse.

Candy Cane Science
We completed an "observation" worksheet by
pulling a candy cane off our Christmas Tree.
This worksheet is from 2 Teaching Mommies.

Christmas Tree Refrigerator Game
I pinned up the trees with ornaments on them.
Jordan counts the number of ornaments and then gets the correct star to top it.
This printable is part of Confessions of a Homeschooler Christmas Pack.
(See link above)

Cutting Practice
Jordan is getting so good using scissors, I only have to help
him start it out, then off he goes!!!
We used the puzzle worksheet from Over The Big Moon Pack.

Color recognition and Handwriting Practice
I had Jordan identify which marker to use for each "color"
and then he traced the color words.

And this is Jordan's Christmas Program
They sang and Jordan stood there, but he didn't cry, so that's a plus! :)

And that was our week! What did you do? Post your blog link in a comment.

Have fun and be a blessing!

  1. Looks like you've been reading lots of Christmas books with your little one. I've been trying to do the same with my little boy, but he hasn't been too interested in the books.

We watched The Polar Express together too. :)
