Pumpkin Science: Will it Float?

Question of the Day:
"Do pumpkins float?"

Jordan's Hypothesis:
"Yes, because I can lift them." (Cute, eh?)

Our Experiment:

We picked the 2 bigger pumpkins from our garden
and we bought the little pumpkins from Walmart.

They will float because he can lift them. hehe

He picked them all up and put them in the bath tub...

What do you know, they do float!!!
He was so excited that he was right. :)

He then washed up all the pumpkins with a wash cloth.

Journal Worksheets:

Pumpkin Observations from 2 Teaching Mommies.
First we observed the pumpkins with our eyes and he found they were orange and some were big and some were small.
Then we listened to see if the pumpkins made a sound... yeah, we thought the same thing, quiet as a mouse!
Then we sniffed the pumpkins and found they did smell good.
Then we touched the pumpkin and found they were bumpy and hard.
Last, I cut the pumpkin open and it tasted sour!!!

Pumpkin Science Lab from Preschool Powol Packets.
This went great with our lab experiment in the bath tub! :)

When daddy came home, he was very excited to tell him that pumpkins do float... which BTW, his daddy didn't know that, so that made his day!

Have fun and be a Blessing!
