Story Corner: "What is Thanksgiving?"

Story Corner
        Lesson of Thankfulness

Book:  What is Thanksgiving? by Michelle Medlock Adams

Overview:
So, what is Thanksgiving really about? This book with its colorful and cute illustrations, first starts out with how the world celebrates this occasion - parades, yummy food, family and football.  But is there more to this special day? YES! It's the one day we remember why we get to celebrate with yummy food, parades, family and football - because of GOD! This is a great book for young kids to learn that God gives us all things so we can celebrate and we should remember to say "Thank You, God!"

Bible Point:
Be thankful for all things.

Memory Verse:
"I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart." Psalm 138:1

Activities:
I paste the cornucopia to a file folder and then fill it with vegetables, have my son count
how many is in it.  Or you can call out what to put it, then count it, etc.

Craft:
  • Thankful Hands Wreath
I will use different foam sheet colors, trace my son's hand, cut them out.  Then take a paper plate and cut out the center.  Have my son glue the hands around the paper plate.  We'll decorate with glitter, stickers, pine cones, leaves, etc.  On the hand prints I'll write the things he's thankful for.  Will post picture once we complete ours!

Lesson Plan:  Coming Soon!

Have fun and be a blessing to your tot(s)!!!
