Warm & Cold Water Color Science Experiment #2

Our second science experiment from the Big Bag of Science is Warm and Color Water Colors!

TimberDoodle.com

We pulled out 2 test tubes, the tube rack, and color dissolving tablets.  Then poured warm water into one of the test tubes and cold water into the other test tube.  The experiment is to find out which tablet will dissolve faster - warm or cold water?!

The verdict: warm water

Little guy had so much fun with this experiment we had to do it AGAIN! :)

warm water on the left, cold water on the right
putting the tablets into each test tube
cold (left) vs. warm (right)

science is fun!

can we do it again?!

Then for fun, I pulled out a baster I bought at a dollar store and had him practice fine motor skills by suctioning up the water and putting it back into the cups we poured from.  And of course we did this again and again... here is a video!

Have fun and Be a Blessing!

  1. The cause and effect experiments are so fun! I bought some corn starch to do the liquid to solid with my son but I'm waiting till he gets a little older so it doesn't get all over the place! :) fun!!!

  6. What a fun way to do the experiment. We did this with those little sponges that the capsule dissolves one time and my kids loved that too.

Thanks for linking up to Science Sunday!
