Menu Plan Monday

Meal planning something I have always done, but I didn't ALWAYS stick to what is planned.  Now that I have a preschooler that is learning to read and always asking what is on the menu, since we've set new rules at our house - I have "learned" to stick to what is planned.  LOL

So, I thought I would share our menu plans.  I like to plan weekly because I go grocery shopping weekly, so I can plan the meals around the sales - works out great for me.  I haven't ventured into freezer meals yet, but it is a plan to do one time just to see how it works for us.

Here is our meal plan for the week, I'll expand on these with recipes in the future:
You can download a copy HERE.

We are on the way to eliminating all processed foods and making stuff from scratch.  I've found that making my own bread/biscuits/crescent rolls/muffins/donuts saves us $30 per month.  Once I figure out how to make the famous oreo cookie, all snacks and treats will be homemade.  I've replaced all our iodized salt with himalayan mineral salt, has no sodium content, which is great since my husband had high blood pressure results before and now everything is in normal range.  And this summer we will be starting our first garden - I can't wait to be able to go head outside to pick fresh veggies and herbs! :)

What are your favorite recipes???

Blessings...

  1. You are so detailed! I want to be be that way, but I don't know if I will ever achieve it. If Shrade asks for a snack, I open the snack cupboard and give him something! I make all breakfasts for the freezer. I make most things from scratch too. We make A LOT of our own food and especially from our garden. My husband makes fantastic salsa and pasta sauce. We have lots of berries and many herbs. Hope you have a good garden this year.

    1. I have to plan snack, otherwise my son will only choose fruit snacks or oreo cookies and never eat anything else. LOL And if I don't plan snack time, I'll repeat the same things over and over and then I don't give him variety. I'm trying to expand my son's tastebuds for things, since he's rather picky. :P I've even changed the rules at our house.
