PreK: Monster Truck, Monster Truck!

Well, monster trucks has been a BIG thing around my house and a theme my little guy doesn't want to get away from, so we continued it for a little bit longer.  Which has been LOTS of fun, plus I have an assessment test that I will give for the first time to my little guy, just to see how much he is retaining and in hopes of preparing him for some "individual" work, since I would like to switch to the workbox system for this next year.

Well, here is a highlight of some of the things we have done...

I created a Letter M sort by using a monster truck clip art from Microsoft Online and adding capital M and lowercase m to them.  I cut the shapes out and then since it was soooo nice outside when we did this, I hid them outside and had him find the monster trucks then sort them under the correct headings on the piece of paper.  He loves this game!

I found a Letter "M" Book at About Homeschooling.
I just printed it out and used it as a coloring book, since coloring is something we
are still working on.  Sometimes he wants to, but most of the time he doesn't.
So, the only way I could get him to color this was by giving him a snack too (yes, I bribed him!).
But he did write his name by himself! :)

Each page of the M Book has an M word, I gave him 3 pages... mop, motorcycle and mouse.
He colored the pictures and then traced the words below the pictures.

"M" is for Monster Trucks is a worksheet from 1+1+1=1 Monster Truck PreK Pack.
He identified each monster truck on the page, then wrote the letter "M" upper/lower.

The "dead end" worksheet as my little guy calls it! This comes from 1+1+1=1 in the Raising Rock Stars Letter M Pack.  I don't even tell my little guy what to do with this worksheet anymore, I just give it to him and he will sit down and complete it, then show it off!

We worked on the Letter M for some more writing practice.
This worksheet is from 1+1+1=1 Monster Truck PreK Pack.
He started to get a little bored and scribbled on the paper.

This is our writing lesson on our dry erase board.
I had him copy what I did and he did pretty good, need to work on slanted lines more.

Math Worksheet from 1+1+1=1 Monster Truck PreK Pack.
He did really good with this, he did half way through completely on his own
then he wanted me to watch him do it and then he wanted to tell me the names
of every monster truck on the sheet. hehe

Beginning Sounds Worksheet from 1+1+1=1 Monster Truck PreK Pack.
We already learned all the names of the monster trucks with the Word Wall that came in the pack,
so it made this worksheet rather easy to do.  He identified the monster truck, then I had him listen to the
first letter and he would yell it out then circle the correct letter.  He shocked his daddy with this one! :)

Read & Write the Room from 1+1+1=1 Monster Truck PreK Pack
There are 2 full sheets of monster trucks to write the names of.
I did one sheet at a time.  First I gave him the sheet and he ran around the
room finding the word wall that matched the tracing words and truck picture.
Then I sat him at the table with a marker and he traced the words
in the order he wanted.  He did really good, but it also let me know
which letters we need to work on "correctly" writing - like B.

I do have more Monster Truck posts coming, this has been a BIG thing around my house.  I have some videos to upload of our Bible time and Math activity, plus the Assessment.  Then I will be changing themes, as I will have our Garden Theme coming too! :)

Have Fun and Be a Blessing!
